Garnett Church of Christ is re-launching as The Journey: A New Generation Church of Christ on Easter Day, March 27, 2016, 10:45 am service at Wright Christian Academy PAC located at 11391 E. Admiral Place in Tulsa.
The church’s former building, located at 12000 E 31st St., in Tulsa is being demolished this month, and the 32-acre property will allow the buyer of the property, Union Public Schools, to build a new elementary school. “The new school will be a blessing to the neighborhood,” Robert Garland, one of the church elders, said.
“Seeing a church building torn down is sad, but here’s what it means to us: a church in debt for decades is now free to follow Jesus with less baggage. We have re-organized to invest in ministry and missions more than bricks and mortar,” Greg Taylor, preacher for the Journey said.
Resurrection Day was chosen by the leadership to officially re-launch the church after moving from the location that was built in 1980 to the leased auditorium at Wright Christian Academy.
“We re-named our church to emphasize that following Jesus is a lifetime journey,” Taylor said. “We’d love for you to join us in our next steps.”
